Roca Brothers Open Rocambolesc Outpost in Houston, Texas

Jordi Roca, one of the world’s best pastry chefs, is bringing his one-of-a-kind desserts to the locals, which includes unique flavors and cleverly shaped popsicles

The Roca brothers are bringing their magic to Houston, Texas. Set in the city's Uptown Park development, Rocambolesc is officially open for business. The brothers—Joan, Josep, and Jordi—are known for their globally acclaimed restaurant, El Celler de Can Roca, in Girona, which not only boasts three Michelin stars but is also considered one of the best restaurants in the world by multiple prestigious rankings. Jordi is no stranger to awards either, and is considered to be one of the best pastry chefs in the world.

Rocambolesc opens in Houston

For this particular venture, Jordi Roca and his wife teamed up with local restaurant stores in Houston to open this new locale, specialized in delectable desserts and incredible ice creams. Highlights from the menu include oven baked apple gelato with caramelized apples and shortbread spears, guava jam with cotton candy, coconut and violet sorbet, and frozen yogurt with a milk caramel sauce. They also serve popsicles, such as chocolate with extra virgin olive oil and salt, yogurt with licorice and lime, as milk chocolate with flavored spiced tea. But this is definitely no ordinary dessert shop. Jordi goes the extra mile with a strawberry and rosewater popsicle ladies in a 3D mold shaped like his nose, and a look pop made from coconut and meringue in the shape of a man's torso.
Rocambolesc already operates in Barcelona, Girona, and Madrid. Houstonians are sure to love the sparkly toppings, Willy Wonka-inspired combinations, and overall creativity from Spain's top chefs.
