Spanish Salt Flor de Sal d’Es Trenc Ranked First by German Consumer Organization

The artisan salt from Majorca was recognized for his incredible quality and the company’s commitment to the environment

Germany’s Stiftung Warentest recently recognized an outstanding Spanish product, and the company behind it, for being the best salt of its kind and for being a local sustainable brand, respectively.

In fact, Flor de Sal d’Es Trenc, made by Salinas d’es Trenc, was rated as the very best salt out of a group of 41 different salts available at different retail points that were rigorously tested by a group of experts. This Spanish salt stood out for its quality, receiving the highest possible score, as well as its flavor, chemical composition, and health and nutritional profile.

Flor de Sal d’Es Trenc also took first place in a similar test back in 2013. Now, 10 years later, its recent recognition further confirms this artisan product’s superior quality, uniqueness, and international prestige.

The company also stands out for being a Balearic Island company, based in Majorca, with a quality seal and a sustainability guarantee. These distinctions reflect its commitment to the environment and to measuring and reducing its carbon footprint and GHG emissions.

Stiftung Warentest was originally founded in 1964 by Germany’s federal parliament to provide objective, impartial information to consumers. That information is based on its comparative research of goods and services. Its results have a major influence on German consumers’ purchasing decisions as it is known for its reputation, reliability, and independence.
