The International Horse Fair (SICAB) was held in Seville from November 18 to 23, 2025, becoming one of the key events to showcase the excellence of the Spanish Purebred Horse (PRE) internationally.
As part of the collaboration agreement between ICEX and RFEAGAS, a prominent delegation of international buyers and influencers from the livestock sector, coming from Germany, Venezuela and United States of America, was organized. The initiative aimed to strengthen the promotional and commercial activities of the Spanish livestock sector internationally, contributing to the overall internationalization of the country’s economy.
A total of 5 buyers, including some opinion influencers, participated in a comprehensive program that included various activities, meetings and competitions at the fair, as well as visits to livestock farms in the region. The buyers, selected by the Economic and Commercial Offices of Spain, focused on high-quality farms with export capacity and international presence, highlighting the excellence of Spanish purebred breeds and the latest technological innovations in the sector.
The list of buyers and opinion influencers included prominent names in the sector, such as Santiago Burssens, Lisa Wilcox and Amelia Newcomb, from the United States, Emilia Schlotterbeck, from Germany, and Carlos Meleán Silva, from Venezuela.
In addition to the scheduled competitions, SICAB 2025 offered notable visits to the participants, such as exploring the Military Centre for Horse Breeding in Jerez de la Frontera, as well as visiting the PRE Genealogical Book office, along with its molecular genetics laboratory, in Seville.
The presence of international buyers and the quality of the activities that took place solidify SICAB 2024 as a key event for promoting Spanish livestock globally, positioning Spain as a leader in the breeding and promotion of purebred horse breeds.
