International Experts Visit FIGAN Trade Fair 2025

Specialists Gathered at the 17th International Animal Production Show, which took place in Zaragoza from March 25th to 28th

On the occasion of the 17th edition of FIGAN, the International Fair for Animal Production, which took place in Zaragoza from 25 to 28 March 2025, specialists from the livestock sector and journalists in Brazil, Chile and Colombia had the opportunity to attend the presentation of the latest innovations in equipment, animal health, genetics and technology applied to animal production.

They attended the different activities organized at the Fair, presentations, meetings and visits to livestock farms in the region of Ávila. All this aimed to promote and strengthen the purebred livestock sector in international markets. 

The mission was composed by the visit to the fair and activities in Zaragoza, which are part of the Spain Food Nation agreement Spain Food Nation between ICEX and the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Food (MAPA); as well as the visit to Ávila and its livestock farms, which are part of the agreement with the Royal Spanish Federation of Select Livestock Associations (RFEAGAS).

On March 25th, they visited the Zaragoza Fair, where they attended the presentation of Livestock Genetics from Spain (LGFS), the RFEAGAS platform for the internationalisation and commercialisation of Spanish animal genetics. They also took part in a meeting with different players of the sector, like Caprigran, where they were able to learn more about the livestock association and how it works.

On March 26th, as part of their visit to the Zaragoza Fair, they attended the presentation of E-LocalHub, a project of digital technological innovations focused on customer experience, which seeks to improve the commercial competitiveness of traditional extensive livestock farming and promote short distribution circuits. After the presentation, the participants enjoyed a tasting session. They travelled to Madrid to prepare for the second part of the trade mission, which took place in Ávila.

On March 27th, the group of experts travelled to Ávila, where they visited the Cardeñosa livestock farm and the community feedlot in Riocabado. They also visited the Capritietar Selección (FYR) livestock farm.
