Foods and Wines from Spain and Alimentos de España are pleased to host the Spain’s Great Match 30th Anniversary organized by the Foods and Wines from Spain, through Trade Commission of Spain in New York, and Alimentos de España as Spanish flavors take center stage at one of the liveliest celebrations of Spanish wines and spirits and Spain's rich gastronomy heritage on the east coast! This action-packed afternoon is devoted to Spanish wine and culinary seminars, regional spotlights, and food-and-wine pairing challenges, and more. Educationally rich programming is presented by a team of Master Sommeliers and culinary experts. Seminars include master classes on the New Quality Stamp Integral Producer and Guarda Superior Cava and Navarra, and deep dives that will include wines from Toro, Ribera del Duero, León, Rueda and VT Castilla y León, and a fascinating look at the fare and culinary heritage of Spain.
Spain’s Great Match events will be held on October 1st at Mercado Little Spain– a veritable love letter to Spain, created by José Andrés and the Adrià brothers as an “all-day destination for the very best of Spain’s food, drink, and culture.” Inspired by the food halls and markets of Spain. Mercado Little Spain is located at 10 Hudson Yards in New York City.
This year, Foods and Wines from Spain is excited to announce the addition for the second year of the DISCOVERY ZONE to the annual event’s activities. This program aims to connect distribution-seeking Spanish companies with importers, distributors, and other potential buyers. Thirteen companies will showcase their products including wines from D.O. Rías Baixas, D.O.P. Jumilla, D.O. Bullas, D.O. Emporda, D.O. Cataluña, D.O. Pla I Llevant, Tierra de Castilla, D.O. Penedés, D.O. Conca de Barberá, Vinos from Cerdanya (Catalan Pyrenees) and Cádiz, snails from Murcia, ovine from I.G.P Castilla y León, almonds from Valencia and olives from Sevilla.
The objective of this event is to create a meeting place, offering the appropriate framework for Spanish exhibitors to showcase their products and establish contacts with importers/distributors.
The event will be publicized through personalized invitations addressed exclusively to the professional sector and press.
