Foods and Wines from Spain and Alimentos de España are pleased to host Spain’s Great Match, the 29th Annual Event organized by the Trade Commission of Spain in New York City as Spanish flavors take center stage at one of the liveliest celebrations of Spanish wines and spirits and Spain's rich gastronomy heritage on the east coast! This action-packed afternoon is devoted to Spanish wine and culinary seminars, regional spotlights, and food-and-wine pairing challenges, and more. Educationally rich programming is presented by a team of Master Sommeliers and culinary experts. Seminars include a deep-dive into the Rioja DOCa, and a fascinating look at the fare and culinary heritage of Spain.

Spain’s Great Match events will be held on October 17 at Mercado Little Spain– a veritable love letter to Spain, created by José Andrés and the Adrià brothers as an “all-day destination for the very best of Spain’s food, drink, and culture.” Inspired by the food halls and markets of Spain, Mercado Little Spain is located at 10 Hudson Yards in New York City.

About the Event

This year, Foods and Wines from Spain is excited to announce the addition of the DISCOVERY ZONE to the annual event’s activities. This program aims to connect distribution-seeking Spanish companies with importers, distributors, and other potential buyers. Ten exciting companies will showcase their products in the Discovery Zone, including wines from La Mancha DO, Navarra DO, Ribera del Duero DO, Rueda DO, Terra Alta DO, Somontano DOP, Valencia DOP, Bajo Aragón VdT, Tierra de Castilla IGP, and olive oil from Mallorca.

The objective of this event is to create a meeting place, offering the appropriate framework for Spanish exhibitors to showcase their products and establish contacts with importers/distributors.

The event will be publicized through personalized invitations addressed exclusively to the professional sector.

This year, 100% of ticket proceeds will go to World Central Kitchen. Founded by José Andrés, the charity concentrates on using the power of food to nourish communities and strengthen economies during times of crisis and beyond.
