Spain Food Nation Summit UK 2023
The Spain Food Nation Summit 2023 will take place on the afternoon of September 28th at One Great George Street in Central London highlighting the quality of Spanish food and wine and boosting trade relations between Spain and the UK.
The Spain Food Nation Summit 2023 is a brand-new event launching this year and follows another new initiative which was the establishment of two Advisory Councils for both Spanish Foods and Wines. These councils met on the 4th and 6th of July respectively and comprised well-known, leading figures in the wine, food, and gastronomy sectors. The Summit will include two ‘round table’ discussions with the members of these Councils moderated by Andrew Catchpole, editor of leading wine industry magazine Harper’s, and Chris White, managing director of Market Intelligence, publisher of Fresh Produce Journal and Eurofruit magazines. The councils will discuss how to further UK-Spanish relations and explore the potential for further market growth.
In addition, John Valentine of RED Communications will present a summary of the conclusions and recommendations from the two Advisory Councils that he moderated.
Juan Park, from Wine Intelligence, will present results from recent market research commissioned on the UK wine market and Spain’s position within it.

The Economic and Commercial as well as the Agriculture, Fisheries and Food sections of the Spanish Embassy in London will also talk about Spain’s performance in the UK market.
The Summit is the brainchild of the promotional body Foods & Wine from Spain and Alimentos de España and aims to improve engagement with one of Spain’s most important export markets. The UK buys billions of pounds worth of food and drink from Spain, from fresh fruit and vegetables to quality meats such as chorizo and Serrano ham, and an extensive range of wines.
The Spain Advisory Councils are a joint initiative from ICEX Spain Trade and Investment and the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, and there are plans to develop the Spain Food Nation Summit concept further.
