Here comes the Sun – Albariño Rias Baixas
The Spanish iconic appellation Rías Baixas will be the theme of the tasting ”Here comes the Sun – Albariño Rias Baixas” organized in the framework of the Polish Sommelier Championship, held in June, 2022 in Warsaw. The tasting will take place at 17.30PM on the 4th of June 2022, during the first day of the competition. It will be a perfect occasion to present the wines of Rias Baixas to the professional sommeliers competing in the Polish Sommelier Championship. There will be 20 competitors, the best sommeliers from restaurants and wine business companies all over Poland, to challenge for the title of Master. The tasting is organized by the Association of Polish Sommeliers together with the Regulatory Board of Rias Baixas appellation, Icex and Spanish Embassy in Warsaw.
The wines will be commented by Anna Smolec – wine journalist and critic, with more than fifteen years of experience in the wine industry. Anna is judge at several wine competitions, such as Vinitaly Concurso Enologico, Concours Mondiale de Bruxelle, Granache du Monde, Rose Championship and others. She is the editor in chief of "Restauracja" magazine dedicated to restaurants, chefs, and HoReCa industry in Poland.
The number of places available in the tasting is limited and is aimed to professionals of wine sector. Championship competitors have priority to attend. Registration is required at biuro@sommelierzy.pl.
During the tasting there will be the chance to taste the classic Albariños, as well as interesting and modern style blends from Rías Baixas. There will be 8 wines presented:
