This trade show brings together the gourmet and specialty food sector, making it the most important event of the year for the industry, with an estimated annual growth of 13% through 2025. The US market offers significant opportunities for the Spanish economy, as it is the sixth largest destination for Spanish food exports and the largest outside of Europe. In this regard, it attracts a large number of Spanish agri-food companies for the following reasons:
• Total sales in the food market reached $2.58 trillion in 2024, with a combination of $1.06 trillion in at-home food spending and $1.52 trillion in out-of-home food spending. The figure is projected to increase to between $2.61 and $2.73 trillion by 2025.
• The gourmet and organic segments, which encompass a large portion of Spanish agri-food exports to the United States, continue to grow, driven by increasing interest in healthy, traceable, and authentic food products.
• Online sales in the agri-food sector continue to grow, reaching between 10% and 17.5% by July 2025, although the majority of sales still take place in physical stores.
• Spanish food exports have reached $2.213 billion, representing a 24% increase compared to 2023. However, the challenges posed by the new tariff policy have resulted in a 4% decrease through July 2025 compared to the same period in 2024.
