Spanish Wine Competition in the Netherlands 2021
ICEX Spain Trade and Investment and the Economic and Commercial Department of the Embassy of Spain in The Hague are organizing the 6th edition of the Spanish Wine Competition 2021 in the Netherlands, where Spanish wines are selected that suit the Dutch market.
This competition provides an excellent overview of some of the best Spanish wines available in the Netherlands and it reveals hidden gems yet unknown.
The competition consists of 12 categories. The wines of producers who are still looking for representation in the Netherlands, are assessed within the following separate categories:
Wines with distribution in the Netherlands | |
- Price-Quality wine | - White wine above 10€ |
- Sparkling wine | - Red wine up to 15€ |
- Rose wine | - Red wine above 15€ |
- Sweet wine/fortified wine | - White ecological wine |
- White wine up to 10€ | - Red ecological wine |
Wines without distribution in the Netherlands | |
- White wine | - Red wine |
The organization reserves the right to cancel or change the categories, depending on the wines entered for the competition.
The selection process is conducted by a jury consisting of Dutch wine specialists such as sommeliers, purchasing managers, importers, independent retailers, distributors, and wine writers.
They are all specialists in their field. The jury chairman is Ronald de Groot, editor-in-chief of the wine magazine Perswijn.
The final selection of the wines will be communicated in a digital booklet.
This booklet will also be distributed with the magazine Perswijn nr. 4 (June 2021).
