The Ibérico expert and professional ham cutter Torsten Habermann gives a comprehensive insight into the delicate world of Spanish ham and cured meats. In his lecture, he will explain the traditional production method and recipes, maturation and storage processes which are essential for the exquisite taste of these products, as well as the use of jamón, chorizo, fuet, cecina de León or sobrasada de Mallorca in Spanish cuisine.
22 exhibitors will present their selected gourmet products and wines for tasting.
Taste traditional delicacies such as tender Ibérico ham, fine olive oils, exquisite smoked fish or refreshing gazpacho, but also lesser-known specialties such as Sobrassada de Mallorca or air-dried Cecina from León. There are also interesting new products such as convenience dishes with venison or wild boar ragout, aromatic hazelnut oil, original Mediterranean snacks and environmentally friendly alternatives, such as 100% biodegradable coffee capsules or organic sheep's cheese, wrapped in cheesecloth without the need for any plastic packaging.
The represented wineries offer organic cavas, red wines from up-and-coming wine-growing regions such as Montsant, Jumilla or Yecla and orange wines from the Penedès, while of course classics from the Rueda, Ribera del Duero and Rioja regions will also be present.
Chef Raquel García Sanchez, known from the Restaurant Paco in Vienna, will transform the presented specialties, with creativity and know-how, into inventive and fancy tapas. The visitors are welcomed to enjoy these tapas during the course of the event.
Informal closure of the event, which will give the opportunity to our exhibitors and special guests -including specialized journalists, restauranteurs and selected importers- to establish talks and networking, while enjoying a seletion of tapas.
