What's on
Another edition of the "Salon International de l'Alimentation" (SIAL) is taking place from the 15th to the 19th of October. SIAL is an event created in 1964 which has become the global meeting point for the food sector and future consumer trends.
SIAL, together with ANUGA in Germany and Alimentaria in Spain, are the three main events dedicated to the food and beverage sector.
At SIAL 2022, around 168 companies will be present in the Official Spanish Pavilion organised by the Spanish Institute for Foreign Trade (ICEX). Therefore, a representative offer of the Spanish agri-food sector can be found in this location. Some of the most emblematic products that buyers from almost 200 countries attending SIAL can find are: tinned food including vegetables, meat and fish, olive oils and other fats, as well as meat products and cooked meats (being the Serrano and Iberian hams at the top of the list). Other goods displayed are beverages and bakery, pastry, confectionery and gastronomic products.
For the 2022 edition of SIAL, most of the Spanish offer will be concentrated in Hall 2 of the Paris-Nord Villepinte Exhibition Centre.
The only exhibition stand located outside of Hall 2 will be the meat one, which will be placed in Hall 6. Thus, companies producing meat products, hams and other cooked meats, as well as salted products and traditional specialities can be found here.
It is noteworthy that the 2022 edition of SIAL will benefit from the media support of Chef Mauro Colagreco, who has been awarded with 3 Michelin stars.
In total, around 7.000 exhibitors from 119 countries will present their products at SIAL 2022, an event that also features several forums and areas dedicated to innovation (Alternative Food, SIAL Talks, SIAL Innovation or Futur Lab). The top 3 countries participating in SIAL are France, Italy and Spain.
SIAL is the ideal trade show to learn about the latest developments in the sector and future trends, while at the same time it stands as an important meeting point for the exchange between professionals.
This 2022 post-covid edition focuses on changes in nutrition, a phenomenon that has been significantly accelerated as a result of the pandemic, highlighting the globalisation of food and its shortcomings, the fragility of ecosystems and the need for a global food recovery.
