This move aligns with the company’s commitment to sustainability and RDI and its goal of producing only organic wines in the future
Bodegas Pradorey has always been committed sustainability and RDI, since inception in 1996 in Ribera del Duero. The company recently decided to go one step further by using the first organic cork stoppers in the European market.
This decision makes the winery a pioneer, and its sustainable cork is already being used on the El Cuentista and Adaro 2021 wines. More wines will incorporate it in the future, including Pradorey Élite 2021.
According to the company, “The use of organic cork stoppers for our wines allows us to… emphasize our commitment to society and deepen our philosophy of using natural materials with the least possible human intervention." One of the winery’s defining characteristics is that it combines tradition and technological advances with respect for the land and its grapes.
The corks are produced by Espadán Corks, a family-run artisan cork producer based in Castellón, Spain. The cork has a Eurogreen Label and is certified as a Km 0 product. The entire production process respects the area’s biodiversity.
The winery has several organic wines at the moment and its goal is for all of its wines to become organic in the future.
