There’s a new venue in London’s Tooting Bec neighborhood and it combines the best of two spectacular worlds: tapas and beer.
This is a venture bought to locals through a collaboration between The Tapas Room, specialists in Spanish tapas and wine, and the London Beer Lab, a microbrewery and shop based in Brixton. The result? Taps + Tapas, serving delicious Spanish fare and craft beer and “uniting in a shared culture of learning, tasting and discovery,” according to the restaurant’s website.
The menu features all-time favorites such as charcuterie and cheese, ham croquettes, Padron peppers, and boquerones. There’s also tasty combinations like chistorra hot dog with red onion and piquillo peppers, grilled artichoke with Asturian blue cheese sauce and honey, and the Basque burger with Idiazabal cheese and alioli, all of which can be paired with a wide selection of unique beers. There are a total of 10 beers on tap, in addition to seasonal guest and rotating taps, not to mention beer, wine, sherry, vermouth, and gin from Spain.
The owners wanted to create something new, fun, and inviting in the neighborhood, and it looks like they’ve succeeded.
