The Los Angeles campus of the Institute of Culinary Education (ICE) is hosting a few delicious initiatives today. The event, entitled “Tasting Spain,” will include four separate tasting seminars exclusive to students, teachers and alumni of ICE.

At the Pasadena campus, an Ibérico ham from Spain seminar will be held first, led by Manuel Recio, an expert and master ham carver. It will be followed by a cheese from Spain seminar and tasting, and attendees will be guided by cheese expert Andrew Steiner. The third seminar will focus on tapas and Spanish cuisine, and will be led by chef Teresa Montaño, from LA’s popular Spanish eatery Otoño. And lastly, there will be a wine seminar headed by Wines From Spain.

This series of activities will offer students, both past and present, the chance to get up-close and personal with some of Spain’s most emblematic products and learn all about the country’s exceptional foods and wines. Once the culinary students have a good understanding of those products’ taste profiles, versatility and nutritional properties, they will be able to incorporate them into their cooking more easily.
