Adiano is First DO Manchego Cheese to Obtain Animal Welfare Certification

This exquisite cheese comes from purebred sheep that are allowed to graze freely, which gives their milk very unique organoleptic qualities

Adiano is the first, and only, artisan DO Manchego cheese in Spain to obtain the Welfair™ Animal Welfare certification. This limited edition cheese is 100% natural and made without additives or preservatives, offering cheese lovers an exclusive and sophisticated experience.

Adiano is made at the El Campillo estate, in the Bullaque river valley, home to 3,500 sheep. The facilities, located in Ciudad Real, are also the first to receive the Welfair™ Animal Welfare certification, which is granted only to those businesses that comply with the appropriate legislation and ensure that the positive treatment of animals is an essential part of their operations. The facilities also boast cutting-edge equipment for the entire production process.

The purebred Manchega sheep graze freely there all year round, which gives their milk unique organoleptic qualities. The animals are allowed to grow at their own pace, and the facilities where they live are designed with the latest technology in animal welfare.

This certificate is the only one of its kind, approved by the Institute of Agrifood Research and Technology (IRTA), together with the Basque Institute for Agricultural Research and Development. It aligns with the European benchmarks, which exhaustively assess the quality of animal welfare on farms and in slaughterhouses.
