Foods and Wines from Spain, Awarded in China

The 2022 Best Restaurants Awards and Golden Prestige Awards gala dinner, organized by Olive Press and sponsored by ASICI (Interprofessional Association for Ibérico Pigs), was recently held at the St. Regis Shanghai Ballroom in China. Around 400 people attended this exciting and glamorous event. This included leading industry professionals from hotels and restaurants, those involved in hospitality schools, chefs, and even diplomatic representatives.

During the ceremony, Food and Wines from Spain also received an award, in the Best Spanish Wine Promotional Campaign in China in 2022.

The Best Restaurants Awards segment provided the perfect scenario promoting Restaurants from Spain certifications. This year, the restaurant Brownstone, which is certified, received a distinction in the international restaurants category.

During the event, Ibérico pork was in the spotlight as a result of a promotional video that was screened and the presence of a stand with a professional ham carver. What’s more, Ibérico ham received the award for the Best Gourmet Ingredient of the Year. China is an extremely important market for this Spanish product.

Plans are already underway for the 2023 gala, during which the organizers will likely highlight the best Spanish restaurants in China for the year. The goal is to further raise the profile of the Restaurants from Spain certification. The next event will be particularly special as it will coincide with the 50^th anniversary of Spanish-Chinese diplomatic relations.
