Meat Attraction 2025: International Buyers Explore Spain’s Meat Industry

ICEX’s Hosted Buyers’ Program enabled international participants to learn about ibérico pork, Spanish poultry, Jamón Serrano, white pork and beef

The international trade fair for meat industry professionals, Meat Attraction, took place in Madrid from February 25th to the 27th. As part of the event, ICEX Foods & Wines from Spain and Alimentos de Espana (MAPA) organized a Hosted Buyers Program, which included the participation of more than 30 international buyers from the meat industry selected in collaboration with the Economic and Commercial Offices of the Spanish embassies abroad. These buyers come to the Meat Attraction to hold B2B meetings with Spanish companies that expose their products at the fair.

Following the event, buyers from Africa, Asia, America, Europe and Middle East will take part in five different journeys across different regions of Spain to explore the diversity of each area, in trips organized by ICEX in cooperation with key interprofessional associations from the meat sector: ASICI, AVIANZA, Consorcio del Jamón Serrano, INTERPORC and PROVACUNO.

Meat Attraction is divided into three main areas: the Product Area, featuring fresh, frozen, and processed meat products (cured meats, cold cuts, pâtés, prepared and canned meats) that meet quality standards such as PDO, PGI, TSG, and GB, as well as Halal and Kosher products; the Auxiliary Industry, showcasing companies and suppliers offering equipment and services for meat production, distribution, and commercialization; and IbericoLand, a dedicated space for the Iberian meat product industry.

A key new feature this year is the online Innovation Gallery, which aims to promote and maximize visibility of standout products while reinforcing the international meat industry as a modern and innovative industry. The Innovation Hub 4.0, as it is called, will feature an online gallery highlighting the best products and services of the exhibitors attending the International Trade Fair of the Meat Sector.
