Spain Foodtech Nation and DESAFIA Foodtech Program at Food 4 Future, Bilbao

Once again, ICEX will actively participate in Food 4 Future, where it will present the latest data on the Foodtech sector in Spain at the Spain FoodTech Nation Auditorium, as well as the leading companies in its DESAFÍA space, which this year also extends to the Future Market, organized in collaboration with KM Zero.

Recognizing Spain's pivotal role in the agrifood sector, there has been a concerted effort to drive advancements in critical areas essential for food production:

  • Emerging Approaches in Presenting Alternative Proteins
  • Significant Investments in the Sector
  • Technologies Ensuring Food Safety and Sustainability Across the Food Value Chain
  • Solutions for Producing and Consuming Food in a More Sustainable and Efficient Manner
  • The Role of Artificial Intelligence Throughout the Agrifood Value Chain.

At this year's Food 4 Future event, ICEX will:

Present its DESAFIA space, an immersion program designed to help startups scale internationally, featuring the two new cohorts from the UK and Germany, as well as alumni from previous editions.

Introduce a new feature where companies with final products will have the opportunity to showcase their innovations at the Future Market, an exclusive exhibition and tasting space for innovative, healthy, and sustainable products, jointly organized by ICEX and Km Zero.

Host a total of 40 international guests including speakers and investors, who will not only participate in various panels but also have the opportunity to connect with Spanish startups.

Promote the Spain Food Tech Auditorium, where, in addition to presenting the 4th edition of the Foodtech Sector Report in Spain, all DESAFÍA companies will have the chance to pitch to a professional audience.

Finally, ICEX is sponsoring the award for the startup with the greatest international projection. The winner will be announced at the gala dinner, which will take place at the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao on April 17th.

This activity is included in the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF), funded by the European Union through the NextGeneration EU Fund.
