Plant-Based World Expo - Europe 2024

#SpainFoodTechNation heads to Plant-Based World Expo Europe, the only 100% plant-based event for trade professionals – retailers, foodservice, hospitality, distributors, manufacturers and investors.

The UK is Europe's largest market for plant-based foods, worth £470 million compared to $4.5 billion in the US, and is growing exponentially. The adoption of a plant-based lifestyle is sweeping the country as people everywhere become more aware of the health, environmental and ethical implications of consuming more plant-based products.

The Spanish foodtech ecosystem closed 2023 with 420 startups, raising more than €226 million across various investment rounds. Spain is one of the few "foodtech nations" focused on leveraging deep tech solutions and next-generation innovation, building on our long and valuable gastronomic heritage to shape the future of food.

The Spanish pavilion will feature some of the most innovative Spanish foodtech companies, all of which have been selected to participate in 'DESAFÍA', an immersion programme in the entrepreneurial ecosystems of countries such as the Netherlands, Germany and the UK. During the programme, these companies were supported by a specialised agency that facilitated contact with the main actors and companies in the local ecosystem. They have also had the opportunity to explore the many opportunities that this environment offers them to access international markets. After completing the programme, these companies have continued to receive personalised support and are still an active part of the 'DESAFÍA' community.

Visitors will have the opportunity to learn how these premium brands are revolutionising the approach to a healthy meat-free diet with the latest technological advances in nutrition and innovation.

This activity is included in the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF), funded by the European Union through the NextGeneration EU Fund.

Let it V’s mission is to introduce plant-based meat into the diet of meat lovers without them having to make any sacrifices. They have a catalogue of plant-based alternatives to bacon, sausage, chorizo and minced meat. Their main product is the pork bacon substitute 'Veikon KuidaoTM'. They have a strong commitment to the environment and to providing high quality plant-based alternatives.

Its mission is to provide a solution for those flexitarians and/or vegetarians who do not dare to eat a 100% vegetable diet because they feel that the existing products on the market, cheese substitutes, are not rich enough.
