Innovative UVESTE Winery Commits to the Dealcoholized Wine Segment

This winery, based in Requena, is already a leader in organic cava production and is now looking to expand its footprint in the dealcoholized wine segment

Demand for dealcoholized wine is growing, and Spanish winery UVESTE is listening to consumers. Based in Requena, this innovative company is one of the leading organic cava brands in Spain and it expects a 60% increase in dealcoholized wine production compared with the previous year.

In 2022, it has plans to dealcoholize 1.6 million liters of wine to meet demand. Non-Alcoholic Wine Market is expected to reach a valuation of US$ 4.5 billion with non-alcoholic sparkling wine rising at a CAGR (compound anual growth rate) of 11.1% during, 2021-2031, according to a report by market intelligence company Fact.MR.

UVESTE recently purchased the rights to run Desalcro, a company specialized in dealcoholization, a move that aligns with its goal of increasing its offer for consumers. UVESTE is using the latest technology to remove alcohol from its wine while allowing it to maintain its aromas.

This segment of the market represents an outstanding opportunity for the company, as growth is expected to increase by 8% by 2025, according to data from the IWSR Market Analysis. Spain is one of the most mature markets for alcohol-free and low alcohol wines, trailing behind only Germany. UVESTE is already a leader in Spain and has its own brand, Marevia.
