The Summit is the brainchild of the promotional body Foods & Wine from Spain and aims to improve engagement with one of Spain’s most important export markets. The UK buys billions of pounds worth of food and drink from Spain, from fresh fruit and vegetables to quality meats such as chorizo and Serrano ham, and an extensive range of wines.
The Spain Advisory Councils are a joint initiative from ICEX Spain Trade and Investment and the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, and there are plans to develop the Spain Food Nation Summit concept further.

For the first time this year, the event will be open for the promotion of Spanish brands in the UK. Running alongside the conference, in a separate space within the venue, our event sponsors will be offering the opportunity to sample Spanish foods and wines.
Continuing with our promotion of quality DO Cava wines following the Masterclass and Cava Bar organised during the Wines from Spain Annual Tasting in May, a Cava Bar will be one of the tasting features put in place on September 9th. Showcasing eight ‘Cavas de Guarda Superior’ wines, the Cava Bar will offer an opportunity to taste the wines, with sommeliers on hand to answer any questions.
Ibérico ham could not be absent from such an emblematic event as the #Spain Food Nation Summit - an exclusive opportunity to communicate the unique qualities of ASICI Ibérico Ham and to present the "Awaken your Ibérico Senses" campaign launched by ASICI (the Spanish Asociación Interprofesional del Cerdo Ibérico). Guests will be able to learn about Ibérico products and ‘awaken’ their own Ibérico Senses through product sampling.
The mission promotional body ASTUREX (the Trade Promotion Agency of the Principality of Asturias), is to promote exports from regional companies and help facilitate their international expansion. Tradition and innovation are two concepts that go hand in hand in Asturias, with cheeses, cider, tinned fish and seafood being just a few of the renowned delicacies to be tasted at the event.
