Presented by David Schwarzwälder
In Rías Baixas, climate, landscape, soils and the autochthonous grape varieties - first and foremost the white Albariño - add up to a region that is capable of producing distinctive, high-quality wines that are enormously diverse within one grape variety. In the second online tasting this year, organised by ICEX/Wines from Spain in cooperation with the Regulatory Board of the Rías Baixas PDO, David Schwarzwälder, connoisseur of the Spanish wines and wine scene, highlights the diversity of Albariño styles as a reflection of the different sub-regions of the Rías Baixas. Starting with soft, flowery Albariños from the border with Portugal, through acidic, crisp Cambados from the limestone-dominated Atlantic coast, to continental and structured Albariños from the interior. The webinar will be accompanied by an exemplary selection of six wines to be tasted.
