DOP Yecla - Spain's mediterranean organic wine paradise

Selected wines from DOP Yecla are the fitting finale of ICEX/Wine from Spain's three-part webinar series. The last edition on Monday, 7 June 2021, from 5 to 6 pm, takes a closer look at "Spain's mediterranean organic wine paradise". David Schwarzwälder presents various organic wines from the southeastern Spanish appellation, which show that the efforts of the Yecla PDO to develop into a region dominated by organic viticulture were spot on. The prevailing conditions are optimal. The Monastrell grape variety, which dominates the region, is extremely adaptable and frugal in view of the extremely warm, rough and barren highlands of the Yecla PDO. Characteristics that, by the way, should also make it the perfect wine partner for climate change. The webinar will be accompanied by an exemplary selection of six wines to be tasted.
