Ibérica Restaurants in the UK Receive IWC Restaurant Wine List of the Year Distinction
This is an incredibly prestigious accolade that recognizes not only the chain’s stellar wine list from Spain, but also Spanish wines in general
The Ibérica restaurant chain, by Nacho Manzano, is indubitably celebrating, having recently received a distinction at the highly prestigious International Wine Challenge (IWC) Awards in the UK.
The restaurants received the IWC Restaurant Wine List of the Year 2022 distinction, in recognition of their stellar wine selection, all of which are from Spain. Therefore, by extension, this award is for Spain’s spectacular wine sector in general. Ibérica is known for its contemporary menu, accompanied by an incredible drinks menu. Highlights include a wide selection of whites, reds, rosés and cavas, and sherries and vermouth. The wine menu is organized into style, like those above, and then again by both quality and region, such as Bierzo, Priorat, Rioja and Ribera del Duero, and also easy, lively and fruit driven; smoky, soft and spicy; and light, fresh and crisp. Ibérica also serves a unique selection of cocktails.There are many Ibérica outposts, such as Marylebone, Canary Wharf, Victoria, Farringdon, and also Leeds.
Another Spanish winner was Indigo Wine, which took home the IWC Specialist Merchant of the Year award for 2022.
The IWC UK Merchant Awards are now in their 31st edition and they seek to recognize and reward incredible achievements in the UK wine industry. These awards seek to generate business opportunities for the winners and to recognize the work of all players—from educators and distributors to marketers and agents—dedicated to bringing wine to UK consumers.
