Spain Wins 10 Golds at World Beer Awards 2026
Spain won a total of 35 medals, including 10 golds, at the World Beer Awards 2026, highlighting the exceptional quality and international appeal of the country’s beer sector.
The World Beer Awards is an international, annual competition that honors the best beers from around the world. Since its inception in 2007, the World Beer Awards has awarded medals across a range of categories, including lager, NoLo (no and low alcohol beers), pilsner, and IPA, as well as awards for beer design and packaging.
A standout winner from this year’s awards is Estrella Levante Reserva 60, which picked up the gold medal for World’s Best Lager, Dortmunder. A full-bodied, special-edition lager with a 6.2% alcohol volume, this award-winner balances a bitter hoppiness with toasted malt aromas and a velvety, creamy structure, ideal for pairing with roasted beef and pork dishes such as cochinillo, hearty stews like cocido Madrileño, and classic rice dishes like paella.
At the World Beer Awards, blind tastings are carried out by a panel of experts from the industry, recognizing the best brewing talent from around the world. This year was a particularly fine one for Spanish beer brands, highlighting the increasing quality of the country’s output.

The 10 gold medalist winners for Spain were Estrella Levante Reserva 60 (World’s Best Lager, Dortmunder), La Salve Pika/Radler (Raddlers and Beer Mixes), Santa Amber (Amber/Dark Kellerbier & Rotbier), Mahou Sin Filtrar (Classic Pilsner), Maestra Dunkel (Dark Lager), Ambar Especial (International Lager), Arriaca IPA Sin ( NoLo IPA), La Sagra 0.0 Tostada (NoLo Lager), Tropical con Limón (NoLo Sour & Wild), and Dorada Sin Gluten (Speciality Beer Gluten-Free).
Silver Medalists
There were a total of 14 silver medalists representing Spain at the awards. These were La Salve Tostada (Dark Beer, Belgian Style Dubbel), Mahou Barrica Original (Flavoured Beer, Wood Aged), Mahou Session IPA (IPA, Session), Ambar 125 (Lager, Classic Pilsner), Cerveza Hecha Bien (Lager, Dortmunder), La Salve (International Lager), Tropical 1924 (Seasonal: Maibock/Heller Bock), Damm Victoria 10 (Lager, Vienna), Ambar Export (Lager, Strong), Maestra Doble Lúpulo (Lager, Strong), Mahou 0,0 Tostada, (NoLo Lager), Santa Cerveza (NoLo Lager), Dorada Sin con Limón (NoLo Sour & Wild), and Mahou Cinco Estrellas Sin Gluten (Speciality Beer Gluten-Free).
Bronze Medalists
Spanish beers won a total of 11 Bronze medals at the World Beer Awards. These were Mahou Barrica Bourbon (Flavoured Beer, Wood Aged), Moritz Bruta (Amber/Dark Kellerbier & Rotbier), Moritz Original (Lager, Classic Pilsner), La Sagra Original (Lager, Czech Style Pale), Dorada Especial Negra (Dark Lager), Mahou Clásica (International Lager), La Salve Lucia (Seasonal: Oktoberfestbier/Märzen), Mahou Reserva (Lager, Strong), La Salve 0,0 Tostada (NoLo Dark), Ambar Triple Zero Tostada (NoLo Lager), Moritz 00 Torrada (NoLo Sour & Wild).
