It covers all the territory of Extremadura.

Wines produced are white, rosé and red. Both white and red wines are aged. Wines can be dry (sugar < 4 g/l), semi-dry(4-12 g/l), semi-sweet  (12-45 g/l) and sweet (≥ 45g/l).

White grapes approved: Alarije, Borba, Cayetana Blanca, Pardina, Viura o Macabeo, Chardonnay, Chelva o Montúa, Eva o Beba de los Santos, Malvar, Parellada, Pedro Ximénez , Verdejo.

Red grapes approved: Bobal, Cabernet Sauvignon, Garnacha Tinta, Graciano, Mazuela, Merlot, Monastrell, Tempranillo (or Cencibel or Tinto Fino), Syrah.

Insolation: 3000 hours/year

Precipitation: 400-600 mm (mainly in spring and autum)

Average temperature: 16ºC-17ºC

Altitude: 200-400m
