Spanish wines were in the spotlight last week at the fifth edition of the Spanish Wine Fair in Prague, hosted at the upscale Hotel Eurostars Thalia and organized by Wines from Spain – ICEX and the Spain Trade Commission in Prague.
There was no shortage of participants, as 170 different wines were on full display, from 25 Spanish wineries. They also represented 2 Protected Geographical Indications, 25 Designations of Origin and 27 distinct winemaking regions.
The fair catered to trade professionals, mainly distributors, sommeliers and the trade media, and there was no shortage of prestigious attendees, including the Spanish Ambassador to the Czech Republic.
A special seminar was held as part of the fair, at which 10 wines were handpicked and sampled and their unique characteristics highlighted. The seminar was led by top sommelier Dominik Sokol.
