Wines of Spain sponsorship of the MUNDUS VINI 2021 International Wine Competition

ICEX/WINES FROM SPAIN sponsors the MUNDUS VINI international wine competition organized by MEININGER, Germany's leading wine and beverage publishing house.

ICEX/WINE OF SPAIN's collaboration with the publishing house includes the sponsorship of the dinner with Spanish wines for the approx. 90 international jurors who come to Germany as tasters for the competition and the organization of a commented tasting seminar of Spanish wines. In 2021 the tasting seminar will be organized with the participation of the CRDO CAVA.

The tasting will be entitled "CAVA shows its origins: the new segmentation and zonification rules" and David Schwarzwälder, journalist and author specialized in Spanish wines, will taste a selection of 6 cavas that will show the new categories and zones of the new regulations of the DO CAVA.

The dinner menu offered to the juries of the international competition will be paired by a selection of wines from Spain that show the great contrasts of Spanish viticulture and the omnipresent influence of the Atlantic and the Mediterranean: a white from the triangle of Jerez, a fresh red from the north with Atlantic influence that has its own identity, and a muscatel from the Axarquia mountains in the hinterland of Málaga with Mediterranean influence.

The dinner and tasting will take place on Saturday, August 28, 2021 in Neustadt an der Weinstrasse, headquarters of the Meininger publishing house.
