There’s a new and delicious product coming out of Spain and consumers are going to love it. It’s being billed as “the first European watermelon of the season” and it’s grown in southeastern Spain. It will be available all over Spain and the rest of Europe.
At the moment, producers are harvesting these unique watermelons, which are expected to stand out for their quality, outstanding flavor and healthy properties.
Promotional efforts are underway to prepare consumers for this exciting fruit, and a digital marketing campaign will be organizing raffles, sharing recipes on social media and encouraging consumers to enjoy it as the perfect healthy snack during confinement. There are also efforts offline to promote the watermelon in supermarkets and other food shops through promotional posters.
Several organizations are collaborating on this project, including the brand Sabores de Almería; the association of fruit and vegetable producers in Almería, Coexphal; and the fruit and vegetable interprofessional association, Hortiespaña.
In an effort to show their solidarity, producers will donate watermelons to hospitals and at-risk groups during the current health crisis.
