It’s official: the world’s first sherry hotel, Hotel Bodega Tío Pepe, has opened its doors, in Jerez, in southern Spain. This boutique hotel is actually inside the González Byass winery and seeks to offer “an experience based on wine and brandy de Jerez from one of the most emblematic Spanish brands of all times, Tío Pepe.”
The hotel is in a refurbished building that’s over 150 years old and previously was comprised of four homes where the winery’s workers lived.
Located a stone’s throw from the Alcázar and the Catedral de Jerez, staying in this new hotel promises to be a very unique experience. It has 27 rooms, a solarium, a pool, several dining options, a lovely garden, a gym, a chill out area, massage services and vinotherapy.
The elegantly decorated rooms are organized into three categories: Classic, Premium and Deluxe, and there are also three types of suites: Junior Suite Oloroso Alfonso y Amontillado Viña AB, Junior Suite Superior Palo Cortado Leonor, and Suite Presidencial Fino Tío Pepe.
Guests have several options to enjoy food and wine. Sala La Reservada is specifically for breakfast while Restaurante Gran Bodega serves lunch and Restaurante Villa Ricardo offers dinner. The dishes are made with local ingredients and then paired with González Byass wines.
