Gilda, the Queen of the Spanish Tapas

This quintessential Basque tapa is truly delicious and really simple: it only takes an olive, and anchovie and a pepper

Named after the famous character from the film 'Gilda', this 'pintxo' was alledgely created in Bar Casa Vallés in San Sebastián in 1948, when the owner, Blas Vallés, skewed an olive, an anchovie and a piparra green pepper together. A legend was born: one of the most delicious and popular Spanish tapas that is still very popular today. Find out more about it in this infography and assemble your own version!
