22 Ships
Set in the vibrant Central (PMQ) district, 22 Ships offers an array of dishes from multiple Spanish regions, served in a cool and casual yet typically rustic setting. Madrid-born chef Antonio Oviedo goes big on flavor, with the Iberico txuleta pork chop with romesco and leeks, and the roasted suckling pig two of the standout mains. Yet the locals’ favorite is perhaps the restaurant’s decadent take on a classic Spanish bikini toastie.

Menu highlight: 22 Ships’ Mallorquí Toastie, featuring sobrasada, tetilla cheese, and truffle honey.

Chueca
A bustling tapas restaurant located in the Central/Soho district of Hong Kong, Chueca’s natural oak features and white/aqua-blue stylings evoke the freshness of the Mediterranean. The menu that includes Spanish classics such as Gambas al ajillo (shrimp fried with garlic), pulpo a la Gallega (Galician octopus), arroz negro (black rice), and burnt Basque cheesecake. Yet it’s the tuna tartare starter, freshly diced and served on a crisp tart shell and topped with salmon roe, that steals the show.

Bayfare Social
With its energetic market-style atmosphere, Bayfare Social aims to recreate the joy of a shared dining experience, so typical of Spanish cuisine. It does so with aplomb. Set in the Rosewood hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui shopping and nightlife district, Bayfare’s open kitchen and stunning views over Victoria Harbour set the mood. The dishes, from tortilla de patatas (Spanish omelet) with 48-month aged jamón ibérico (Iberian ham), and seafood rice cooked in lobster stock, offer a mouthwatering taste of Spain. The restaurant even welcomed Michelin-starred Spanish chef Nieves Barragán for a recent collaboration.

La Rambla by Catalunya
How do you capture the buzz of Barcelona’s famous street in a single restaurant on the other side of the world? First, get the design right. La Rambla’s bright decor, 70s stylings, and Gaudí-inspired trencadís mosaics conjure the spirit of one of the world’s most magical cities. Chef Rafa Gil, formerly of El Celler de Can Roca, serves inventive Catalan fare across two private dining rooms, a sprawling central space, and a waterfront terrace with views over Victoria Harbour and the Hong Kong skyline. The world-famous Joselito jamon Ibérico, aged for at least 60 months from 100% acorn-fed pigs, is a must.

El Vaso de Oro HK
El Vaso de Oro HK is a tapas bar inspired by traditional 1970s Spanish bodegas. The atmosphere is playfully retro, with azulejos (colorful geometric tiles), soft mood lighting, and Spanish murals, while head chef and co-owner, Barcelona-trained Carlos Salvador Asensio, offers comforting Spanish classics inspired by his grandmother's kitchen. Set in a former table tennis supply store in Sai Ying Pun, Ping Pong 129 is a self styled ‘gintonería’ specializing in Spanish tapas, rich seafood dishes, and creative cocktails. Retro-futurist, industrial chic interiors create a magnetic atmosphere, one that attracts trendsetting tipplesmiths and old-school foodies alike. Live music and interactive art shows play out, as diners delight in classic tapas plates such as Pimientos de Padrón, croquetas de jamón, and slices of cured PGI Cecina de León beef.

Menu highlight: Xoriguer G&T featuring Xoriguer Mahón, a unique Menorca-made gin that’s regarded as one of the finest in the world.

La Paloma
Designed in the style of a beachfront chiringuito bar, La Paloma captivates diners with a typically laid-back, Spanish feel. Qué Pasa Tapas Y Vino
Set in the heart of Tai Hang, one of Hong Kong’s liveliest neighborhoods, Qué Pasa Tapas y Vino has a homely atmosphere that welcomes both locals and expats, with warm timbers and Spanish-themed artwork creating a cozy, unpretentious environment.
