Foods & Wines from Spain is kicking off 2019 with a definitive calendar of Spanish attendance at the world’s most prestigious food and wine fairs. Will you join us for this delectable global tour?
ISM – Cologne – January 27-30
The first Spanish pavilion of the year will be held at a very sweet place: the ISM trade fair in Cologne, Germany, the world’s most important forum for sweets, pastries and candy. This will be the 49th edition of this annual event, which is exclusively for industry professionals. The exhibitor profile ranges from both big, leading companies in this sector, to medium and small-scale enterprises that are focused on more specialized niches. Together, they attract a large number of important buyers for the world’s sweets industry.
Prodexpo – Moscow – February 11-13
The PRODEXPO trade fair is attended by all of the relevant distributors from Moscow and Saint Petersburg, in addition to serving as the reference for operators from all the other Russian regions, as well as neighboring countries and areas like Belarus, the Ukraine, Armenia and Central Asia. Spanish companies that participate in the Spanish Pavilion organized by Foods & Wines from Spain will have the chance to strengthen or initiate business opportunities in this geographic region.
Gulfood – Dubai – February 17-19
After touring Europe and Central Asia, our next destination is the Middle East where Dubai will be hosting Gulfood. This is an obligatory event for any Spanish company that wishes to expand its activity in this region, as attendees hail from countries in the Persian Gulf / Middle East, as well as from Africa and Southeast Asia.
Expo Antad Alimentaria – Guadalajara (Mexico) – March 5-7
We now head for the Americas to show off the best of Spanish foods and beverages in Guadalajara, Mexico. This year will mark the 4th edition of EXPO ANTAD & Alimentaria Mexico, which together have become the international business platform for the food and beverage industry in Mexico, the rest of Central America and, by extension, South America.
Foodex – Tokyo – March 5-7
Spanish companies that wish to take on the challenge of conquering Japanese consumers should look no further than the most important trade fair in East Asia, Foodex. This year will mark the 44th edition of this international event dedicated to the food and beverage industry, as well as the 29th consecutive edition that ICEX is organizing an official pavilion here. It is important to point out that this fair not only targets Japanese consumers, but also provides an ideal showcase for Spanish companies that wish to enter into other markets in the Asia-Pacific region.
Prowein – Düsseldorf (Germany) – March 17-19
Along with Vinexpo in Bordeaux, Prowein is without a doubt the most important wine fair on the “Old Continent.” See and taste a selection of 100 important Spanish wines in one place over a three-day period. Could anything be more enticing for a wine-lover? This is one of the attractions offered by the Spanish Pavilion at the ProWein Trade Fair in Düsseldorf from next March 17-19.
Food & Hotel Vietnam – Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) – April 24-26
Vietnam has turned into one of the most attractive Asian markets for Spanish food and beverage companies, particularly those in the frozen fish and seafood sectors, as well as processed foods, confectionery, baby food, fruit preserves and beef. Spanish compabis will profit its participation at Food & Hotel Vietnam.
HOFEX – Hong Kong – May 10-12
Spanish companies know Hong Kong is one of the gateways for their products in Asian-Pacific markets. For this biennial fair called HOFEX, Foods & Wines from Spain plans to repeat its successes of 2017 by hosting seminars and tastings to attract visitors to the different Halls: the main Food Hall, the Meat Hall and the Wine Hall.
Vinexpo – Bordeaux (France) – May 13-16
Vinexpo is a benchmark in the wine world. This extremely prestigious fair is ideal for Spanish wineries and companies that have good international distribution networks, and that offer competitive products characterized by their very high quality.
Anuga – Cologne (Germany) – October 5-9
From Bordeaux we head to neighboring Germany to attend the world’s most important food fair, Anuga. Together with SIAL Paris, this is the most relevant international trade fair for the agri-food sector and one that is exclusively targeted at professionals, which include some of the most important representatives from the global food industry.
Hong Kong International Wine & Spirits – Hong Kong – November 7-9
Although we already visited Hong Kong in May, our Spanish Pavilion has another very important date this month in this Southeast Asian metropolis: Hong Kong International Wine & Spirits. Given the magnitude of this event and the volume of visitors, this trade fair is considered one of the most important ones in its sector in Asia, providing an important showcase for the present and future of wine in Asian markets.
Food & Hotel China – Shanghai – November 12-14
We finish up our tour of the world’s best agri-food fairs for Spanish companies with two dates in Shanghai. One is Food & Hotel China, a fair that offers an excellent platform to get a first-hand look at the wide range of opportunities that an ever-expanding market like China has to offer.
ProWine China - Shanghai – November 12-14
ProWine is held in parallel to Food & Hotel China, and it puts the finishing touch on the calendar of official Spanish Pavilions organized by Foods & Wines from Spain in 2019. The exhibited wines represent virtually every wine region in the world, while the large number of foreign visitors from all over the globe lends ProWine a clearly international character.
