Londoners with a sweet tooth are about to get a new stomping ground thanks to Albert Adrià. His restaurant, Cakes & Bubbles, has officially opened inside the luxurious Hotel Café Royal, in Soho.

Customers should eat before they come, because this locale only serves dessert and wine. Highlights from the menu include waffles with caramelized banana, egg flan with dark caramel, chocolate ninyoyaki balls, air pancake, strawberry and chocolate marshmallow “after eight,” churros with chocolate crémeux, baby pineapple with lime zest and coconut, and passionfruit  and chocolate cake with hazelnuts and ice cream. Signature desserts include two types of cheesecakes: classic, NY-style and an “adventurous” version with coulommiers cheese, hazelnut and white chocolate.

As for the “bubbles,” there is plenty of champagne on the menu, including a selection of “legendary” ones—the crème de la crème. Those looking for Spanish options need not look too far. There are a few cavas from Cava Llopart as well as a 2017 Albariño from Quinta do Couselo in Galicia. There’s also a Spanish red: a 2016 Rioja from Bodegas Bhilar, and several fortified wines from Spain too.
