New Cava Website and Marketplace Seeks to Connect Consumers Directly With Producers

Compracava.com, an initiative from the Institut del Cava, aims to boost online sales and give consumers wider access to their favorite cavas as well as new ones.

Cava fans have a new way of getting their hands on their favorite sparkling wine. Compracava.com is a new marketplace that lets consumers and businesses buy cava directly from the wineries themselves.

This digital initiative, a project from the Institut del Cava, aims to boost online sales by providing people with a wide range of variety to choose from as well as a direct sales option so they no longer have to buy their cava through general wine websites.

They’ll have direct access to their favorites as well as the opportunity to discover new ones.

The Compracava.com website features dozens of wineries at the moment, each with their own brief profile so consumers can learn more about them. This includes smaller names and renowned brands, from Blancher, Bodegas Maset and Can Quetu to Castell San Antoni, Freixenet, and Jaume Serra. On the cava page, users simply click on a brand name and then can then access that winery’s online store.

The Institut del Cava is working hard to promote this new project by putting in place a digital promotion strategy that will include placing ads online and on social media. A recent initiative called #encasaconcava (at home with cava) was also recently launched in an effort to boost household consumption.
