Polish Gastronomy Professionals Head to Galicia for Reverse Trade Mission

A special delegation is heading to Galicia this week, straight from Poland, to get to know some of the region’s leading food and drink producers.

The visit is being organized by the Spain Trade Commission in Warsaw at the request of the Galician Food Cluster. The former played a very active role in choosing the professionals that would be invited to visit Galicia as part of this reverse trade mission, while the latter is a leading food and beverage organization in the region that aims to help local companies internationalize and improve their competitiveness.

During their visit they will tour the following facilities: Armadora Pereira (Vigo), which specializes in fish; Clavo Food Factory (Caldas de Reis), which sells meat, fish, pre-prepared fried products and also tinned foods; Viña Moraima (both in Caldas de Reis), a winery; Jamones González and Torre de Núñez (both in Lugo) and both experts in ham and other charcuterie; and Frigoríficos Arcos (O Carballiño), specialists in octopus.

On the final day there will be a special business meeting held at a hotel in Santiago at which the delegation from Poland will be able to meet with representatives from FESBA (mussels), Lanzal (shrimp, squid and other fish and seafood), Terra de Asorei (an association of winemakers), Tartas Ancano (cakes, doughnuts and pastries), and Daveiga (cookies).
