The release of the official 2019 World’s 50 Best Restaurants List is around the corner, and as a teaser, the list of restaurants ranking in positions 51 to 120 has been announced.

There are several Spanish restaurants that made the grade. That includes Aponiente, which ranked 94th and was included in the list for the very first time; Martín Berasategui, which came in 87th; Enigma, which ranked 82nd; Quique Dacosta, now 81st; DiverXO, 75th; and Arzak, now 53rd. This second half of the list represents 44 cities and 25 countries.

Though the top 50 restaurants haven’t been announced yet, 7 from Spain are expected to be included: Disfrutar, Mugaritz, Tickets, Asador Etxebarri, Azurmendi, Nerua, and Elkano.
El Celler de Can Roca, which has been ranked number 1 in the world twice and second in the world once, has been excluded this year due to changes in the rules and is now on a list called “Best of the Best.”

It’s also worth noting that the list has, in years past, included a total of 100 restaurants, whereas this year an additional 20 restaurants have been included. The ranking is published by William Reed Business Media and is sponsored by S.Pellegrino.
