Quique Dacosta’s new restaurant in London, Arros QD, is set to open on June 7th. This new locale, in the upscale Fitzrovia neighborhood, will put paella in the spotlight and bring Spain’s famous rice dishes to discerning consumers in London. The paellas will be prepared using wood-burning stoves and different types of wood, and the open kitchen will give customers the chance to see the chefs in action. Many of the ingredients will be sourced locally.

This is a collaborative project between Dacosta and the CEOs of Ibérica group and InPaella, who have insider knowledge of the UK dining scene and can help boost the Spanish chef’s new venture.

Said Dacosta of this project, in bighospitality.co.uk, “This has been a dream of mine for a long time. I’ve always liked the idea of doing traditional Spanish recipes… I don’t think it will take a lot of education for people to understand how great paella is as a dish that can be eaten all the time. Many people have tried it when they visit Spain or have been exposed to it, they already know about the dish. We are here to give our grain of rice to London to show people how great it can be.”

This is Dacosta’s first restaurant outside Spain. The Michelin-star chef is a mainstay on The World’s 50 Best Restaurants list, and has won many distinctions and accolades, and he’s known for his innovative techno-emotional cuisine as his restaurant in Denia, Spain. He also published a 300-page book called Contemporary Rice Dishes.
