7 Chefs Prepare One-of-a-Kind Spanish Experience at Feast Portland

Participating chefs will be part of the food fair finale, preparing a series of Spanish dishes that reflect the country’s varied, delicious gastronomy.

Feast Portland is almost upon us! This event brings together brewers, winemakers, chefs, farmers and artisans in Oregon for an incredible 4-day festival. As one of the region’s biggest food and drink events, every year they organize an extra special line-up with industry leaders. Organized by Bon Appétit, it will run from September 12th to the 15th.

This year’s event will include an activity called Vaguely Spanish, on the 15th. It will bring together “seven boundary-pushing chefs” to create “both classic and border-blurring cuisine,” which will be paired with wines from Spain and elsewhere.

Participating chefs are as follows: Scott Ketterman (from Crown Paella), Maylin Chavez (from Olympia Oyster Bar), John Gorham (from Toro Bravo), Aaron Crowder (from Cervo’s in NYC), José Chesa (from Ataula), Javier Canteras (from Urdaneta), and Althea Grey Potter (from Oui! Wine Bar and Restaurant). They aim to smash the misconception that Spanish cuisine is just tapas and sangria and to show attendees that gastronomy from Spain is extremely regional and wildly varied.

A selection of top breweries, cideries, distilleries and wineries will also participate in Vaguely Spanish, which will be the grand finale for this 4-day culinary extravaganza.
