Spanish companies are gearing up for Gulfood. This major event will be held at the Dubai World Trade Center, and includes all kinds of activities, from the Gulfood Innovation Summit, which will look at innovation, case studies and consumer trends, to the Discover Zone, which will highlight new product releases. Chefs will compete at the Tastes of the World culinary battle, and the Gulfood Innovation Awards will recognize noteworthy brands and products. There will be no shortage of Spanish companies in attendance, as they head to Dubai to expand their footholds in Asia and connect with other trade professionals. ICEX participates in the 2020 edition of the Gulfood fair with an Official Pavilion composed of 145 companies that are distributed in halls, depending on their activity: Dairy, Oils and Fats, Beverages, Meat, and Food of the world.
The Spanish pavilion will have a promotional space called "Spanish EVOO Experience", which will provide added value to the exhibiting companies and includes several information areas on organic olive oil and an area explaining the different DOs that exist in Spain.
The space will have a permanent tasting area where the products of the exhibiting companies will be displayed, including a container and a technical sheet of each product. In addition, this space will host twice-daily tasting seminars attended by buyers, distributors and the professional public at the invitation of Ofecomes Dubai.
As for the drinks pavilion, 10 exhibitors will be present. This is a productive area with high potential in the region, so it is necessary to boost the Spanish pavilion with a promotional space, in line with the trend perceived in recent editions in which the pavilions of different European countries incorporated tasting areas similar to this one.
Due to the characteristics of the market, a permanent space for tasting Mocktails (non-alcoholic drinks) will be developed, which represent a healthy, natural and halal product. The tasting of combinations from Spanish products exhibited in the same pavilion will be completed with non-alcoholic wines (sparkling and non-sparkling).
Other drinks will also be tasted, such as mineral waters, a product of great interest in the market and in which the Spanish industry has made great progress in the field of internationalisation. In fact, this is the tariff heading that has grown the most in the last decade.
