Economic and Commercial Office of Spain in Serbia (ICEX) will organize a professional tasting of Spanish charcuterie and cheese, in collaboration with Metro Cash&Carry Serbia. This event will give a chance to Serbian HoReCa specialists to expand their knowledge on largely diverse Spanish offer.


The tasting will be divided into two segments, the first being dedicated to Spanish ham and charcuterie, and the second, to cheese. Each segment will start with a brief introduction on the importance of these products in Spanish and world gastronomy, followed by a guided tasting of their sensory characteristics and finished by pairing the products with Spanish wine.

Tastes of Spain in Belgrade. Catalogue

With almost 150 types of cheese and 29 PDOs, Spain is one of the leading producers in Europe. Its´ offer of sheep, goat and cow cheeses and blends is one of the most varied in the world.  When it comes to charcuterie and ham, the consumers can be assured that the products with the quality mark are made of the best ingredients and according to the strict procedures and processes. The symbol of Spanish cuisine are, without a doubt, serrano and iberian ham but non the less, the gems such as chorizo, lomo and fuet. The making of charcuterie, starting from the animal breeding to aging process and finally cutting, is almost a form of art.

The tasting will be guided by a local expert, Mr. Dejan Maksimovic, whose experience of working in HoReCa sector in Spain will give a unique insight into some of the most recognized Spanish flavours.



In order to round the flavours and make the tasting complete, ham and cheese will be accompanied by mineral water, artisanal bread and quince paste by the sponsors of the event.
