Online tasting wines from Galicia for members of the Dutch guild of Sommeliers

ICEX/Foods and Wines from Spain in the Netherlands, in cooperation with the Dutch Guild of Sommeliers, is organizing a virtual tasting, exclusively for twenty members of the guild. The focus of the tasting is on wines from Galicia.
During the presentation, that will take place on 16 November 2020 at 11.00 a.m., Dutch Master of Wine Cees van Casteren will present 11 wines from the Galician wine areas DO Rías Baixas, DO Monterrei and DO Ribeiro.
Participants will receive the samples so they will be able to taste alongside the Master of Wine.

• Master of Wine Cees van Casteren
Cees van Casteren MW is consultant, wine writer and freelance journalist.
Cees became Master of Wine in November 2012 and is a great connoisseur of Spanish wines.
He is currently Chairman of the Association of Vinologists in Holland. He travelled extensively to vineyards on five continents.
Cees has a weekly column in newspaper De Gelderlander and is correspondent for Meininger’s Wine Business International.
He also teaches WSET courses at Wijnstudio and Winefields and his own wine courses on request. Among his consultant clients are the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of The Netherlands and Lallemand of Canada.
Cees won twice the Dutch wine tasting championships ‘Prix Pommery’ and received Southcorp’s Writer’s Bursary in 2003. He became Ambassadeur du Champagne in 2008, won the Torres Wine Course in 2007 and wrote ten books (all in Dutch language) since 2004.
