The Gran Orden de Caballeros del Vino has announced that three new members have been inducted into the prestigious group. They were chosen for their commitment to promoting Spanish wine in Spain and in the UK.The first new member is Richard Bigg, Managing Director of Camino Group, who said that he is “delighted to have held the honor of being welcomed into the Gran Orden de Caballeros del Vino. I’ve been thrilled to discover ever more about Spanish wines for a long time, and it feels wonderful to be a part of such a prestigious group.”
The second member is Norrel Robertson, MW, a winemaker and the founder of El Escocés Volante, who operates his business in Spain and said “I hope that, together, we can keep on communicating all that is great about Spanish wine, culture and lifestyle.” The third member is Manuel Muga, Executive VP of Bodegas Muga, who was also honored to receive this important recognition.
Sarah Jane Evans, MW, Chair of the Gran Orden, noted that all three are industry professionals who have worked diligently to promote Spanish wine. She described Bigg as a “dynamic ambassador for Spanish wine in the On Trade in the UK,” Robertson as “an award-winning winemaker and a highly-regarded consultant winemaker across Spain, and Muga as having “transformed his family business into an internationally-recognized symbol of fine Rioja.”
