What’s better than getting a mystery box delivered every month with new products to try? Whether its make-up, clothing, or healthy snacks, subscription boxes are trending up and they’re here to stay.
Nymag.com recently published a review of the very best wine subscription boxes, according to sommeliers, and it turns out nothing makes consumers happier than having a box of new wines to try, delivered straight to their doorstep. Five sommeliers were asked to weigh in and choose the top 15, catering to all types of preferences.
Of course, Spanish wines made the list, and the best Spain-focused wine subscription was the José Pastor Selections Wine Club. Pastor is an importer focused on growers in Spain and he sells 6- and 12-bottle subscriptions, which will set you back $199 and $399 per shipment, respectively. These don’t ship monthly though; you can expect a delivery three times a year, in January, May and October.
To get a sense of Pastor’s tastes, the May 2020 boxes include 2012 Akutain Reserva Rioja, 2016 4 Monos Cien Lanzas Sierra de Gredos, 2018 Laura Lorenzo Portela do Vento Ribeira de Sacra, and 2018 Naclares y Prieto Soverribas Albariño Rias Baixas.
