The Winners of the Bacchus Awards for Young Wines in Spain Have Been Announced

 Do Ferreiro 2019, Tintoralba Roble 2019, and Scala Dei Pla dels Angels 2019 all took home Grand Gold Bacchus awards

The 34th edition of the Bacchus Wine Competition has come to an end, recognizing the very best wines of young wines of 2019. A total of 517 wines were rigorously tasted and assessed this year by a panel of industry experts, who recognized top wines with various distinctions.

The top winner was Do Ferreiro 2019 (DO Rias Baixas), which received the Grand Gold Bacchus Luis Hidalgo Award, was named the Best White Wine, and obtained the highest marks in the competition. Other wines that performed extremely well and received Grand Gold Bacchus awards were Tintoralba Roble 2019 (DO Almansa), best red wine, and Scala Dei Pla dels Angels 2019 (DOQ Priorat), best rosé wine. Silvano Garcia Dulce Monastrell 2019 (DO Jumilla), the best sweet wine, received a Gold Bacchus award. El Petit de Sanui Negre 2019, received a Gold Bacchus award as well and was named Best New Brand, and Pablo Estévez (La Trucha, Davide) was named Best Oenologist of Young Wines for the second year in a row.

Other Gold Bacchus winners included Estola Rosado 2019, Rectoral Do Umia 2019, Torrepechi Blanco 2019, Arnegui Rosado 2019, Gargalo Godello 2019, Fillaboa 2019, Evol 2019 and La Val 2019. Silver Bacchus winners included Campo Viejo Rosado 2019, Abadia de San Campio 2019, Mundo de Yuntero Blanco 2019; Green & Social 2019, Benizar Semidulce 2019 and Yugo Tinto 2019.
