The Torres family, a leader on Spain’s wine scene, is celebrating their 150th anniversary. Their roots can be traced back to 1870, when two brothers, Miguel and Jaime, first created the company. Over the course of the years, five generations of the family have taken the helms and steered it towards success, in part thanks to a strong commitment to innovation and knowing how to adapt to the changing times.

Today the iconic company is focused on producing highly unique wines, using organic methods to grow their grapes, and recovering ancient varieties and adapting them to climate change and current conditions. They have been working hard to be environmentally responsible by reducing their carbon footprint through the use of renewable energies.

The Torres family manages 2,000 hectares of vineyards across nine wineries in Spain. They have also focused on expanding their footprint overseas, with the result that they are currently present in 150 countries. The company has been named World’s Most Admired Wine Brand on four occasions by Drinks International and is also part of the exclusive association Primum Familiae Vini (Leading Wine Families), comprising just 12 centuries-old wineries.

To celebrate this milestone anniversary, the company is preparing a book, which looks at each generation’s contribution over the years, and they will also organize events to celebrate with industry professionals and the public.
