Bodegas Frontonio Presents its Singular New Wine Project

A new project in Alpartir, Zaragoza, recently attracted a prestigious group of wine professionals to the area. Bodegas Frontonio revealed its vineyard dubbed El Jardín de las Iguales, and attendees at the presentation were able to learn more about it and sample some of its wines. The singular, centuries-old vines have yielded spectacular wines, also called El Jardín de las Iguales. Visitors also toured the new facilities.

Attendees included Fernando Mora MW, who is a partner in the project along with Mario López, an oenologist, and Francisco Latasa, a lawyer. The following winemakers also attended the event: Raúl Pérez, Ricard Rofes, María José López de Heredia, Alvaro Palacios, and the following Masters of Wine: Almudena Alberca, Aina Mee Myhre, Aina Mee Myhre, Jonas Tofterup, Sarah Jane Evans, Norrel Robertson, and Andreas Kubach. In total there were 70 people, including Spanish and international distributors.

The winery was initially established on top of a 200-year-old cave, allowing the winemakers to leverage the effects of gravity. Today the facilities can accommodate up to 40,000 liters of wine. At current, the company has 2016, 2017 and 2018 vintages in different phases of production, with 901 bottles of white wine and 1,302 bottles of red wine.
