The Five Bio International Organic Wine Fair is coming up on September 2nd and 3rd and is being billed as a “wine discovery trip.”

The event will attract everyone from producers and importers to exporters, oenologists and restaurants, and will feature visits to four wineries near Pamplona: Bodega Quaderna Via, Bodega Navarrosotillo, Bodega Biurko Gorri and Bodegas Lezaun. Each winery will host a winery exhibition, which will showcase other local wineries, and the host will offer a visit and a traditional lunch or dinner. Interestingly, the host wineries will be preparing for the harvest, so visitors will be able to see the grapes before they’re transformed into stellar organic wines.

Exhibiting wineries, which will be coming from all over Spain, include Bodega Pago Casa Gran, Aroa Bodegas, Bodegas Las Cepas, Bodegas Real Rubio, Cellers de Can Suriol, Ontinar, Bodegas Sierra Norte, Gelmer Wines, Hammeken, Josep Foraster, Vagal, Ubeta, Hidalgo Alberto, Coduvina, and Bouquet d’Alella, among others.

It’s worth noting that the area dedicated to organic wine production in Spain has increased, from 53,000 hectares in 2009 to 106,000 in 2017.

The event is being organized by ICEX, Foods and Wines from Spain, and the Government of Navarre. Participants will have a unique opportunity to learn about, and sample, these very special organic wines paired with excellent food.
