Spanish wine is taking over Ireland for Spanish Wine Week, which will run from April 8th to the 14th. Now in its fourth edition, this popular event is organized by Wines from Spain and aims to “celebrate the impressive diversity of the regions and grapes that make up Spanish viticulture,” according to spanishwinweek.ie.

Wine tastings and events will be held nationwide, in Cork, Dublin, Kerry, Galway, Limerick, Mayo and other locations. Examples of activities that are scheduled include a free in-store tasting at the at the Ardkeen Quality Food Store in Waterford; a sherry tasting and masterclass, including cocktails, at Balfes at The Westbury; a fusion meal featuring wines from northern Spain and traditional food from northern India at Pickle; a local shellfish tapas and wine pairing at Cava Bodega in Galway; and a 10-course tapas and pintxo dining experience at Sol y Sombra. The latter is being held in conjunction with the All Ireland Tapas & Pintxo Championships.

There are countless activities being organized throughout Ireland to celebrate wines from Spain, and many wine shops, restaurants and distributors are offering special discounts on wines for their customers, including Mitchell & Son Wine Merchants, Sheridans Cheesemongers, 64 Wines, Heart of Spain, Camden Kitchen, and O’Briens Wines.
